The short version

Reforma reviews exist so people can find good Pilates studios. Write what you actually experienced, in your own words, about the studio you visited. Don't write reviews for places you didn't go to. Don't use reviews to settle scores or attack people personally. We hold every 1-3 star review briefly before publishing so we can catch obvious abuse, and we let anyone flag a published review for our team to look at.

What a good review looks like

  • Based on your actual visit. If you've been to the studio, you've earned an opinion about it.
  • About the studio itself. The space, the equipment, the instructors' teaching, the class structure, the booking experience.
  • Specific where it helps. “The Reformer beds were well-maintained and the morning class kept the right pace” tells the next reader more than “great studio.”
  • Honest about the negatives, kind about people. A studio can have crowded changing rooms and good teaching at the same time. Say so.

A short, accurate review is better than a long one written to fill space. Star-only reviews (no text) are also fine.

What we don't allow

Some content gets removed when we see it or when someone flags it. The policy is intentionally narrow so honest criticism stays protected.

  • Reviews of places you didn't go to. Includes friends-of-the-owner pile-ons, competitor smear campaigns, and reviews that describe the studio incorrectly enough that you clearly weren't there.
  • Spam. Repeated copy-paste content, links to unrelated services, promotional text for another business.
  • Personal attacks and harassment. Naming and shaming individual instructors or staff in ways that read as harassment rather than feedback. Criticism of teaching is fine. “Anna paced the class too fast for beginners” is feedback. Anything that reads like a personal grievance is not.
  • Defamation.Specific factual claims about a person or business that are false and damaging. If you didn't see it firsthand, don't state it as fact.
  • Hate speech, slurs, threats. Zero tolerance. Removed on sight.
  • Personal information.Don't post phone numbers, home addresses, or other identifying details about staff or other clients.
  • Sexual content, illegal activity. Not the venue.
  • Off-topic. A review about the studio next door, the weather, or a feature request for our app belongs elsewhere (the contact form is at reformaco.com/contact).

How moderation works

4 and 5 star reviews publish immediately. You can write one and it appears on the studio page within seconds.

1, 2, and 3 star reviews are held briefly before publishing. We read each one against the rules above and either publish it (the common case) or hold it back if it crosses a line. Our target turnaround is 72 hours; in practice it's usually faster. While a review is held, the writer sees a “Submitted, your review will appear shortly” placeholder on the studio page.

We hold the negative end specifically because that's where the legal and abuse risk is concentrated. We are NOT screening for accuracy or trying to soften criticism. Honest 1-star reviews about real visits get published.

Editing a 4-5 star review down to 1-3 stars routes the review back through the same brief moderation pass. This stops the gaming case where someone posts a 5-star review to skip the queue and immediately edits it down to 1.

Flagging a published review

If you see a published review that breaks the rules above, tap the three-dot menu on that review in the Reforma app and pick “Flag this review.” You'll be asked for a reason (spam, fake, harassment, defamation, off-topic, or other) and you can add a short note.

Flagged reviews stay visible while we read them — same Trustpilot-model approach as our pre-publish queue. We aim to respond within 72 hours. If we conclude the review breaks the rules, we remove it. If we conclude it doesn't, the flag is dismissed and the review stays.

We don't share the flagger's identity with the reviewer. We don't notify the reviewer about the flag itself; we only notify them if we end up removing the review.

Editing and deleting your own reviews

You can edit or delete any review you wrote, anytime, from the studio detail page in the Reforma app.

Editing:updates the review content and stamps it as “edited.” If your edit drops the rating from 4-5 to 1-3, the review re-enters the moderation queue (same logic as a fresh submission).

Deleting:immediately removes the review from the studio page. We retain the empty record (no visible content) only so the “one review per studio per person” rule can't be bypassed by deleting and re-posting. We never display, share, or analyze the content of a deleted review. See our Privacy Policy for the technical details.

Studio owners

If you own or work at a studio that's been reviewed and you believe a review breaks the rules above, flag it the same way any other user would (or email moderation@reformaco.com if you don't have the app). We treat owner flags the same as any other flag: read against the rules, decide on the merits.

Asking us to remove a negative review because it's negative isn't a flagable offense. Negative reviews about real visits are protected speech and stay published.

Owner response and verified-studio status (where verified owners can reply to reviews under the studio's name) is planned for a future release.

Eligibility to write reviews

You can write reviews on Reforma if:

  • You have a verified email address on your Reforma account.
  • Your account is at least an hour old.
  • You've logged at least one Pilates session in the past 7 days.
  • You haven't already reviewed the studio in question.
  • You haven't posted another review in the past 12 hours.

These limits exist to keep the directory honest. We'd rather have fewer, real reviews than a flood of throwaway ones.

Changes to these guidelines

We update this page as we learn what works. Material changes (anything that affects what content is allowed or how moderation runs) get a note at the top with the date. The “Last updated” line above always reflects the most recent change.
